While Jaguar understood not to eff situations up, the same apparently cannot be alleged of Jaguar dealers, as evidenced by the photo above. TTAC’s Justin Berkowitz came all over currently car on screen in his local shopping mall and was understandably horrified to see who the dealer elected to quality circumstances up by sticking an old-school leaper affirmative on the hood. It’s a disaster, seem to be desire a gain who needs to be removed and biopsied. So, remember kids: how the automakers do not screw up, dealers can… and considering the opportunity, will.

Power is able to initially arrive on Audi’s 4.2 liter V8 in most prices of tune, and the establishment states who it may be able to wrest select LS9s based on data from General Motors, a argue that is as plausible as space aliens at the White House. If V8s do not whet your appetite, there is as well certain idle chatter regarding an electric version. Our impression is the that car is simply lingo affirmative now, and the pictures of the office check staged to a few degree, so additonally the story is construction the rounds, we wouldn’t get our hopes up for anything and everything real.

The biggest impediment to the G8 Coupe actually seeing the light of day are looming new CAFE regulations, but we don’t see how selling a bulk of these cars with the still-excellent 3.6 liter V6 to less performance-addled customers would be a bad thing. It’d hopefully prevent Pontiac from running afoul of the fuel economy rules while getting another car out there that enthusiasts can embrace in a variety of flavors.

Now, we know that just because you drive a screaming yellow car doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re ready for a shrink, but the study is interesting nonetheless. One thing we question is that there are a lot more colors that denote an unhappy person than there were colors for confident folks, and the percentages were definitely skewed towards an overall lack of confidence. Also keep in mind that CNW once determined through statistical analysis that the Hummer was greener than a Toyota Prius, so its results can be taken with a grain of salt.

Cd, downforce, drag, drag coefficient, DragCoefficient, frontal area, FrontalArea, lift, Measure, spoiler, wing

At highway speeds, your vehicle is fighting an invisible foe trying to hold it back. The nemesis is wind resistance, and it is an automobile’s worst enemy. Overcoming the resistance of the air is the key to increasing acceleration, top speed, and improving fuel economy.

Wind resistance is often measured with sophisticated computers in multi-million dollar wind tunnels. The result is usually expressed as a number called the “drag coefficient” (Cd). While having a low drag coefficient is important, the size of the vehicle (expressed as “frontal area”) is also important. In general, as drag coefficient and frontal areas decrease, a vehicle becomes easier to push through the wind. Automakers are well aware of this, so they go to great lengths to ensure a low Cd on vehicles designed for high efficiency. Some approximate Cd values for well-known vehicles.

Batman, Batmobile, eBay

The Michael Keaton/Jack Nicholson Batman is and probably always will be my all-time favorite movie, and the ostentatious Batmobile was one of my most cherished Hot Wheels. Owning the flat-black exotic has always been a less than realistic goal, but thanks to eBay, someone will have that chance. If you like the Batmobile as much as I do, and unlike me have at least $500,000, you can actually purchase the Dark Knight’s superhero-mobile on eBay.
The Batmobile on auction is number five of five, and with only 54 miles on the odometer, it is one rare bird indeed. It has no doors, and the only way to get behind the wheel is to jump in through the roof. The 20-foot long Batmobile hides a 5.7L Chevy small-block under-hood that hasn’t been driven in five years, and judging from the pics on eBay, it’s an automatic, too. It does make sense for Batman to fore-go manual shifts, since he needed to use his free hand to fire 50-caliber machine guns. Somehow we have the feeling that heavy artillery isn’t included in the auction, but at least you can look like your car can blow things up. Nobody has bid on the item yet, and at 500-large we’re guessing this auction has a chance of reappearing soon at a lower starting price. Thanks for the tip, Steve!

Chrysler, Nardelli, Pentastar, Walter P. Chrysler museum, WalterP.ChryslerMuseum

Chrysler’s over-sized dealer-body has been struggling with the Pentastar’s shrinking market share, but that’s not stopping Chrysler brass from asking them for donations for the newly non-profit Walter P. Chrysler museum. Dealers are being asked to contribute $5,000 apiece to help keep the museum up and running, and in turn Chrysler is changing the museum’s name to the Walter P. Chrysler Founding Dealers Society. Dealers that participate in the program will get their name added to the Founding Dealers Society Donor Wall.

While it’s well-known that Chrysler is working hard to shrink non-core costs, the 70-vehicle museum only has six full-time employees, which doesn’t meaningfully impact the bottom-line. The program is strictly voluntary as well, so no dealers will be unwillingly hurt during the funding of this museum.

Buying a luxury car or SUV is the dream of many readers, and while a BMW or Mercedes will buy you some instant street-cred, they’ll also cost you an arm and a leg if it ever needs fixing. A repair that may be no big deal for a Chevy Cobalt can cost much more in a luxury vehicle due to high-tech gadgets and more expensive materials. Forbes put together lists of the ten most expensive to repair luxury and non-luxury vehicles over a five year period.

The most costly vehicle to fix overall was the Dodge Viper, which came in at $1,641, and the most expensive luxury vehicle was the Audi A8 at $1,640. The story was much different for the non-luxury vehicles, with heavy-duty trucks and SUVs making up the lion’s share of the list. The Subaru Impreza and Mini Cooper were the only imports to make Forbes’ dubious top ten.
